Last Days/End TimesThe period shortly before the end of the world... which at this time have lasted over 2000 years and likely to last another few million.
 
Laying On of HandsA practice performed on a sick person, intended to save their life, that usually results in their death.
 
LazarusEl-Azar-Us figure raised from the dead by the Egyptian Hero-God, Horus.
 
Leap of FaithSudden belief in your ability to defy the laws of physics (such as thermodynamics, gravity) induced by persistent hallucination. (See Roadkill)
 
LiahonaA defective compass found by a bunch of wandering Hebrews. Because it pointed East rather than North, the wandering Hebrews wound up in the New World. (see Book of Mormon)
 
LieberalA word used by someone who thinks he's clever.
 
Light
  1. A common hallucination experienced by a brain that is starving for oxygen. Commonly reported by survivors of "Near Death Experiences", it is interpreted as a sure sign that there is an afterlife, and it's very well lit.
  2. Theists claim to see this all the time; atheists prefer to wear shades so they can see where they're going and aren't blinded by the sun.
  3. What theist see rather than the truth. It`s impossible to see anything else with a bright light shining in your face.
 
Lord of the RingsFantasy epic which, despite having way more sorcery and evil creatures than the Harry Potter series, is not perceived by Christian fanatics as a threat to anyone's salvation. This is possibly due to the fact that the author, J.R.R. Tolkien, was known to be a Christian apologist.
 
Lottery
  1. A tax on the mathematically incompetent.

Love
  1. A very common human emotion.
  2. A super-intelligent sentient being who designs and creates universes (e.g. "God is Love").

Usage note: Although apparently two quite different definitions, it is common to switch from one to the other without offering a reason. Anyone who disagrees with 2) is branded immediately as incapable of experiencing 1).


 
Luck, Good/BadRandom events that, when beneficial, allow theists to justify their belief in God, and when detrimental, allow theists to justify their belief in God, but with a different rationalization.
 
Luther, MartinGerman Catholic priest who felt that the Pope was misinterpreting the word of God. He founded the Protestant religion, so that lay people could misinterpret the word of God for themselves.
